* Use a slice of capsicum as an egg ring for frying eggs on the BBQ. Just eat it along with the egg when it's cooked. Sprinkle with a bit of cheese.

* (nothing to cook those eggs on): Try mess-free eggs on an open fire — cut an orange in half and eat the pulp. Then crack an egg into the orange skin and place it in the embers until the egg turns white.

* Left: My favorite, Lamb rack and veggies. I usually cook this once a trip takes about 20 min to cook on really good coals. My daughter Ashleigh and her boyfriend John got me to show them on the last outing at Christmas Mmmm. Two tips oil the camp oven really well including the lid and roll the veggies and lamb rack in a tray lightly oiling, garnish with what ever herbs and on the coals it goes.

Right: BBQ - Blue salmon and fresh scallops from the local co-op on a layer of shredded BBQ fresh beans and salad.
